Futpro Sports is an event management company who had received the contract to restructure and conceptualize the Delhi state football league system. With direct feedbacks and advice from Mr.Shahji Prabhakaran, President, Football Delhi, this project was looking at shaping up a new version of Delhi football and positioning it as a model state for the rest to follow. Consulted the client on creating a new league format structure by conducting in-depth market research and revenue analysis. Created go to market strategy and sponsorship engagement plan for the client.

The Ask
Futpro Sports approached me with the requirement of consultation on restructuring the Delhi football league model and marketing strategy to expand the reach and following of the brand. With an experienced team of business, finance & sales professional, this project was more about team work and collaboration including the Delhi football committee members.
The Approach
The footballing body of the capital should be a trusted and reliable brand for players, club and sponsors alike, but that wasn't the case. Years of make shift planning and low quality of services and exposure had lead to everyone loosing their faith in the system. With over 64 registered clubs active for over a decade and a roster of more than 5000 players from Delhi/NCR meant that the problem was in the revenue streams and corporate engagement structure of the association.
In order to rectify this situation we started with introducing 2 additional tiers for associate clubs to become a part of Delhi Soccer Association, firstly to setup an addition channel for revenue and secondly to expand the reach of the event. Still, the main hold back was the relationship with sponsors to attract better funded engagements and variety of corporate partnerships. And so, we introduced a 6 step engagement process detailed out to help the sponsors better understand the offerings.
We believed that creating a long term relationship with the sponsors was the only solution. The entire event execution strategy was structured to provide the maximum exposure to the sponsors. We offered to create a customized model based on the marketing needs and financial capacity of each sponsor.
